An introduction | Why don’t you write a blog?

A bit over two months ago I was in a psychiatric hospital on probably one of the worst episodes in my life. Now I am in Norway.

While these two things might seem a bit random, they are part of an important realisation that keeps emergeing following a low period: I don’t want to stay in Germany – or – I don’t want to continue the way I live.

But rather: I do want to go to Norway – I do want to travel and have adventures – I do want to live the life I’m dreaming of and longing for.

So after I gained more clarity in my head, the wish to go to Norway re-emerged. I very quickly started to feel better and be more active because now I had something to hold onto; I shared my ideas and was met with both support and also a little resistance or doubt if this was such a safe idea. One nurse said to me: “Why don’t you write a blog?”

I thought: Why would she say that? I can’t write! (haha, I’ve been writing stories since I was a kid) Who would even read this?

While the last question still remains open, in the week that I have been here in Norway, I have found the need to collect and share my many thoughts. So first of all, this blog is for me.

To gather thoughts and let them go, to keep memories safe, to review things I have learnt, to look back on the journey I have taken – and finally to perhaps also inspire others (you).
